Radiological Health Assessments
Cardno ChemRisk experts have conducted numerous site-specific risk assessments evaluating the potential for health effects associated with radionuclide exposure at industrial, residential and commercial locations. These projects have included multi-radionuclide/multi-chemical/multi-pathway assessments, development of site-specific clean-up values, development of environmental sampling plans to support risk assessment and site remediation activities, and focused exposure assessment evaluations. Cardno ChemRisk scientists have also led three of the nation's largest environmental dose reconstruction projects at nuclear weapons facilities including the Rocky Flats Radiological and Toxicological Dose Reconstruction (Phase I) on behalf of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Oak Ridge Dose Reconstruction Project on behalf of the Tennessee Department of Health, and Los Alamos Historical Document Retrieval and Assessment (LAHDRA) Project on behalf of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We have several staff members with U.S. Department of Energy Q-Level security clearances, and several additional applications pending.
