Evaluation of Chemical Risk Management Program for a Tire Manufacturer
At the request of a large tire manufacturer, Cardno ChemRisk scientists performed a third-party review of their chemical risk management program to determine whether or not it contains attributes of a successful industrial hygiene program. Program elements were designed and evaluated in accordance with the “Plan-Do-Check-Act” model outlined in the global OHSAS 18001 standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. Program strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement, including questions for clarification were provided. In addition, the implementation of this program was assessed in a global scale through conducting audits at several diverse international facilities. At these facilities, the understanding, use, feasibility, and stage of implementation of the program was evaluated and reported.
