Cardno ChemRisk awarded “Best Medical Device Paper of the Year”

Cardno ChemRisk scientists were just awarded “Best Medical Device Paper of 2016” by the Society of Toxicology. The paper, which is titled "A preliminary evaluation of immune stimulation following exposure to metal particles and ions using the mouse popliteal lymph node assay", was published in Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology and was authored by Brooke Tvermoes, Kenneth Unice, Bethany Winans, Michael Kovochich, Whitney Christian, Ellen Donovan, Ernest Fung, Brent Finley, Ian Kimber (University of Manchester) and Dennis Paustenbach.

This work is part of an ongoing evaluation of metal sensitization as a possible failure mode for metal hip implants.
