Dr. Rachel Novick is a board certified toxicologist with eight years of professional experience in human health risk assessment and toxicology.  Her primary practice areas include food and consumer product safety, toxicology research, exposure assessments and risk assessment. She has provided toxicological assessments of a variety of chemicals including food additives, industrial chemicals, environmental contaminants, and proposition 65 listed agents. She has coordinated efforts to understand the potential exposures and human health impacts of chemicals released in the environment and in drinking water.  Dr. Novick has been involved in occupational and consumer product dose reconstructions and simulation studies for asbestos, benzene, formaldehyde, and consumer product preservatives. Her past research focused on drug metabolism and the role of flavin-containing monooxygenases (FMOs) in site-specific toxicity in the liver and kidney. She has examined gene and protein expression in response to dioxin exposure and the potential cross-talk between the dioxin and testosterone signal transduction pathways.
