Scarves for the Season

Northern winter temperatures can be especially difficult to face without proper clothing, so the Pittsburgh office banded together to make this season a little warmer for our neighbors. 20 scarves were knitted or crocheted by our office staff and will be taken to the Salvation Army to be donated at their local shelters.

For stitching enthusiasts, donating handmade items can be an easy way to make a big difference in local communities. For anybody new to the craft, knitting and crocheting are easy to pick up; and several members of the Pittsburgh staff (myself included) learned for this effort.

If you are interested in donating, in addition to organizations like the Salvation Army, you can reach out to local shelters, nursing homes, and hospitals, who often accept items such as hats, scarves, blankets, and booties. To learn how to stitch, or to sharpen your skills, be sure to check out one of my favorite collections of how-to videos.
