Biography

MM. William Cyrs is a Supervising Health Scientist with Cardno ChemRisk. His principal areas of training and expertise include industrial hygiene, exposure assessment, exposure reconstruction, hazard communication, occupational exposure limits, and aerosol technology with an emphasis on nanoparticles. He provides industrial hygiene support for litigation and non-litigation projects, and has analyzed data or assessed risk regarding acrylates, asbestos, BTEX, carbon monoxide, diacetyl, hydrogen sulfide, and VOC exposure. He also evaluates historical and contemporary corporate conduct and regulatory compliance regarding occupational asbestos, diacetyl, and noise exposure. In addition, Mr. Cyrs is experienced in determining contaminants of potential interest to design industrial hygiene sampling protocols for various occupational scenarios and processes based on reviews of process information, SDSs, and the scientific literature regarding materials used and potential exposures. He completed his M.S. in Occupational and Environmental Health with a concentration in Industrial Hygiene from The University of Iowa College of Public Health. His prior research experience includes developing materials characterization methods, generating nanoparticles for an energy application, and developing airborne nanoparticle sampling methods.
